Yeah Christmas is over!
What a relief! We can put another Christmas behind us. Now back to work. I am in the middle of a coffered ceiling. Will post pictures soon. I finished the fireplace wall and have started the many layers to complete the ceiling. I guess I better order the additional supplies needed and get to work. See you later!

The interior designer turned me loose here and just said to do an old world look. He actually wanted me to do my lime wash finish with texture, but I talked them in to an old world italian plaster finish. It is a heavily textured marmarino. They wanted a stone pattern on the pantry. I troweled aquastone through a pattern and finished the stones with various colors of lime wash. They love the total look. I brought in one of my good friends Darla to refinish the cabinets. Before the cabinets were golden oak. I love the dark color now. I think the whole project was a success. The only thing that I haven't posted yet are the columns that I finished in cracked plaster and then limewashed. Maybe when I get a minute I will find the pictures and post them as well.
One of my latest projects has been the Hill residence. I have posted other photos from their home and these are the last. I finished the main body of walls upstairs in coccio pesto italian plaster. The walls turned out beautifully. I love the feel of italian plaster. There is nothing that compares. The 6-foot-2 senior played 10 games because he was hurt in the second quarter of Jerome's state quarterfinal victory against Nampa, but completed 241-of-351 passes for 2,803 yards, and 23 TDs. Lammers also ran 95 times for 262 yards and 13 TDs. "This young man is responsible for the J-town turnaround," Minico coach Tim Perrigot wrote.
SKYLAR MORGAN, MINICO, RB
The 4A Player of the Year, known as "Poke" at Minico, makes his second consecutive appearance on the first team. At 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, Morgan carried the ball 275 times for 2,062 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also had 11 receptions for 140 yards and three more touchdowns. " 'Poke' is Minico football," Minico coach Tim Perrigot wrote.
DEVIN DROGHEI, HILLCREST, RB
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound 4A/5A High Country Conference offensive player of the year finished his junior season with 32 TDs. In Hillcrest's state championship victory against Jerome, he had four TD runs and finished the game with 26 carries for 292 yards. "Dominated the state championship game," Middleton coach Bill Brock wrote.
MIKE DECKER, POCATELLO, TE
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound 4A District Five player of the year finished his senior season with 28 catches for 460 yards and 10 touchdowns. Decker helped Pocatello advance to the state quarterfinals, where it lost 42-21 to eventual state champion Hillcrest. "Good receiver, great blocker," former Bishop Kelly coach Jack Parker wrote of Decker.

Minico coach Tim Perrigot wasn't shy in expressing his admiration of the 6-foot-3, 160-pound junior. "J-town should change his name to 'Clutch'," Perrigot wrote. Callen finished the season with 82 receptions for 940 yards and eight TDs. "Without a doubt, the go-to receiver of 4A football," Jerome coach Gary Krumm wrote.
KOBY CAMPBELL, CENTURY, WR
At 6-foot, 150 pounds, the senior was named District Five offensive player of the year. He averaged 20 yards per catch and finished the season with 40 catches for 815 yards and 11 TDs. Century lost to Hillcrest in the first round of the playoffs. "Great student and football player," Century coach Nate Borchert wrote of Campbell, who sports a 3.8 GPA.

The 6-foot-1, 250-pound senior's work in the trenches helped Nampa advance to the state playoffs, where the Bulldogs lost to finalist Jerome in the quarterfinals. Behind Watt and his fellow linemen, All-Idaho second-team quarterback and Southern Idaho Conference offensive player of the year Quaid Morris passed for 1,020 yards and rushed for 820.

Preston's first All-Idaho first-team selection since 2003 also is a second-team defensive lineman. He was a second-teamer on offense and defense last year. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound senior was named District Five lineman of the year. "Devastating run blocker with the necessary skills to be a great pass blocker, too," Preston coach Shawn Marlow wrote.

He is a two-year starter for Mountain Home, which advanced to the state semifinals, but lost to eventual champion Hillcrest 49-43 in Idaho Falls.

With Astel anchoring the offensive line, Hillcrest averaged 39.8 points per game.

At 5-foot-6, 145 pounds, Mendoza didn't cast an imposing shadow, but the senior had a big leg that helped the Tigers advance to the state championship game against Hillcrest. Hansen home revisited
This is just another picture from the Hansen home. I glazed the fireplace. Simple right? I felt like a monkey trying to get all of it glazed in between the beams and the rock fireplace
A couple of pictures from the 2008 Parade of Homes in Idaho Falls. It was a beautiful home to have the opportunity to work in.
Devin's football team actually took state in the 4A division. I am so proud of all of the boys on the team. I know this is a drastic change of subject but I just had to throw that in.

Football
I have to totally change the subject. My son Devin Droghei started on the football team this year as a junior. Hillcrest hadn't won a game since 2005, A new coach and we are in the playoffs with one game left before the state championship. We have a 9-1 record this year. Devin is the leading running back in the state with 24 touchdowns and 1465 yards rushing. Very impressive for a junior. Yes I am a proud mom.

Ceiling
This is the latest completed project. Allyson Walker wanted a new entry. A metallic plaster barrel vault with metallic plaster design and swarovski crystals was the ceiling design and the walls are cracked plaster with an embedded design in the same metallic plaster as the ceiling.
